Ask a question: Why do tomatoes grow in abundance when planted with the same genetic variety and not when they are planted with different kind of tomatoes? 3.Form a hypothesis: My hypothesis is that when the same genetic variety of tomato are planted in the same area of a garden, they usually are determinate or indeterminate. Which means one has a maximum size and all the tomatoes normally grows at once and the other grows “indeterminately”. Maybe when planted together it makes them share the nutrients because of their same properties, when mixed they have different need which can cause problems. 4.Make a prediction: I think that planting only determinate tomatoes from the same genetic variety or only indeterminate tomatoes from the same genetic variety would make them produce more fruits. 5.Test prediction: a) plan experiment: I plan to have different area in my garden. I will plant 2 kind of indeterminate tomato in the same area and 2 kinds of determinate in the same area and 4 area of mixed determinate and indeterminate to see which one produces more tomato B) Perform experiment: plant every planed area with tomato’s C) Collect new data and analyze collect all tomatoes, count how much tomatoes I collected and the approximated time of collection 6.Interpret Data: Now with the tomatoes that I collected and the data that I analyzed.
