I need an explanation for this History question to help me study.
“IQ” papers comprising two paragraphs: one entitled “Insight” and the other “Question,” each based on the day’s assigned reading.
nothing too long just two paragraph about half a page total.
todays “IQ” paper is for Frederick Bauerschmidt, The Love That Is God, pp. 60-69
some questions you should think about while reading:
1.)What does “grace” mean? What does it mean in reference to God? to Humanity?
2.)Why, according to Bauerschmidt, was Jesus “so unconcerned about the perils of befriending sinners and outcasts, so unconcerned about the ‘contagion’ of sin” (62)?
3.)Why does Augustine think that grace usually works in “subtle, hidden ways” (63)?
4.)For Augustine, why did friendship involve “misery”? Why did he continue to pursue friendship in the face of such misery?
