LITERATURE SEARCH PROJECT
A 7-page (NOTE: THIS INCLUDES TITLE PAGE AND A REFERENCE PAGE) literature search project on a course-related topic will comprise a large portion of your grade in this class. This project MUST BE written in accordance with the American Psychological Assoication’s (APA’s) style of writing. Currently, the APA writing-style manual is in its 7th Edition. Plagarism is taken very seriously; thus, if you are not familiar with APA style of writing, you are expected to review or look up APA writing style guidelines and examples. Resources will be provided for looking up APA guideline, and Dr. Carlson will provide a tutorial for learning how to search for empirical articles. The literature search project MUST include 5 empirical (i.e., research article that includes research questions and/or hypotheses and studies to answer the questions/hypotheses) articles to reference. There are 3 major parts of this project to scaffold your understanding of how to think about starting to write about a research topic of interest (e.g., to help you think about research papers, literature reviews, theses, and so on). Each assignment associated with this project will be graded and turned in separately. A rubric will be provided for relevant parts to help guide you through the process.
You will choose a course-related topic about a certain aspect of memory in real life situations covered in this course that will become the focus of your literature search project completed throughout the course. Below is a list of topics to choose from
i. Memory and development (could include memory associated with learning in reading, math, other subjects; memory associated with ADHD)
Literature Search Activity: This assignment is designed to help you learn how to navigate the GSU library databases and find your 5 empirical articles based on your topic you chose in Week 1. Tutorials will be given to help you think about your topic to help you find your articles. This might include finding related subtopics to eventually create a story about your topic and will help you with your final project for the course. This activity is due in the appropriate dropbox folder in iCollege Sunday 7/4/2021 by 5:00 pm and is worth 50 points. I HAVE THE 5 EMPIRICAL ARTICLES PICKED ALREADY. I WILL ADD IN ANOTHER PAGE ALL THE INFO TO THEM.
Final Annotated Bibliography: This assignment is designed to help you organize your ideas about the literature search you conducted for the articles you found for your topic of interest. This will include summarizing the specifics of each empirical article found, as well as providing a critique of each article. Again, you are required to find 5 empirical articles. There will be more information, including a tutorial on this assignment, provided in iCollege.
