I’m working on a Social Science exercise and need support.
Choosing your research topic is initially driven by your interests or concerns. But as we have seen, not all things we care about are worthy of study. Begin by searching out the existing literature around your topic. At the end of many research articles, the researcher will offer “topics for further research” suggestions. Begin to research a topic of your interest; go to http://www.library.ncat.edu/ and put your topic in the Search bar. Find articles (at least 5) that address your topic of interest. Then read, read, read until you find a problem that still needs and deserves to be solved. Design a simple Proposal to explain what you want to do (Introduction), why it is worth doing (Rationale), and how you want to gather information (Method, Design, and why your choices are the best for investigating this topic). Finally, list the background literature that has led you to this topic (Reference List in alphabetical order by last name of the author—Include at least 5 sources.).
