Please write based on the attached readings 3 discussion board posts of 500 words each with 2 responses for each post of 250 words each. Please ensure each post and response has references and in text citations. Please USE attached reading materials.

Topic 1

As your second discussion board topic post, base your submission on the readings: Seek first to understand, then to be understood (Covey, 1989), Active Listening (Coles, 2018), Business Communications That Work (Turner, 1999). By the way, use this citation method to attribute your sources. From these readings, (1) describe five things that your found to be most important, (2) list anything that you disagree with and why, and (3) what are the organizational implications inferred by each of authors in these selections? Please remember to reply to at least two of your classmates’ threads (two for each topic, four total) by explaining what you agree with, disagree with, and why. The replies must be substantive and must contribute to the discussion.

Topic 2 Relationship between Change and Resistance, example below

by Lorna Wilcox-Gollop – Wednesday, 2 September 2020, 7:19 PM

To bring forth change is to interrupt complacency, normalcy and venture into the unknown. When the day to day normal is interrupted this usually bring forth resistance. A few years ago, my organization decided to implement a new Electronic Health Record (EHR), many of the older nurses decided to retire early (the thought of no more paper charting was too overwhelming for them). Those who were unable to retire argued and complained endlessly of the change. In my experience, resistance to change is seen in the young and old alike. According to; (Wentzel, 2019), when faced with mandated change, people naturally experience tension to reduce opposing beliefs or feelings. Resistance to change ties directly to cognitive consistency and the need to ensure beliefs match behavior.

Topic 3 Role of Leadership in driving change in an organization – Example below

by Lorna Wilcox-Gollop – Wednesday, 2 September 2020, 7:17 PM

When implementing a change within an organization no matter how large or small, having the right experienced leader or lacking such can determine the success or failure of that implementation. Leadership is thinking outside the box, having the right ream members in place, taking ownership, listening, effective communication and not afraid of failure. Leadership is seen as an attribute and a process according to (Ionescu, & Bolcas). As an attribute, leadership brings together a set of characteristics – behavioral patterns and personality traits – that make the members of an organization more efficient and achieve the expected goals. As a process, leadership is based on different sources of power and a set of specific skills, being an action oriented to influence the members of a group to meet common goals.
